DESIGN + CREATIVE DIRECTION
World Merit is a for-profit organization founded in the U.K. by social-entrepreneur Chris Arnold with the goal of disrupting the traditional channels of power, bringing thousands of young future global leaders to the fore, and creating an active online community of socially conscious, entrepreneurially-minded men and women worldwide. Involved from inception, Alchemy helped conceive and brand this high impact global initiative. Intelligent creative direction informed design which could resonate with both the millennial and sponsorship audiences. As a result, the website and communications materials have successfully attracted vibrant youth engagement and critical sponsors such as Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai and leading educationalist Sir Ken Robinson.
Alchemy helped develop strategies for tangible social impact, such as the Merit Next and World Merit Fellowship programs, and established cross-border partnerships with youth-focused organizations such as Youth Services America, to amplify WM’s reach. To date, World Merit has given life-changing opportunity to hundreds of young adults from every continent, and grown a proprietary social network of hundreds of thousands of active millennials from every country on the planet.

In addition to providing creative direction for World Merit’s media library, Alchemy created an iconic video of renowned human rights activist (and World Merit sponsor) Jack Healey, speaking out on behalf of World Merit and youth activism, directed by Bill Miles. Out of the Mouths of Babes, below, is a response to Jack’s assertion that “the young will never understand their power.”
